There is access to the mount by just removing the intake piping for the air filter. Get that out of the way and you will be able to reach and see the mount. As you've found out, now you have collateral damages. I still think shuddering is due to the transmission and specifically the torque converter, nothing to do with gears. You need to change the trans fluid every 15k miles from now on, at least a single drain and fill. Don't follow Honda's recommendation of 30k or more. I would recommend the following procedure for tightening the bolts: Place the motor mount in it's position and insert all 4 mounting bolts and tighten by hand. There is access to the mount by just removing the intake piping for the air filter.
